Extended Rides

The Extended Rides will be a three or four day touring type of ride.

The basic idea is to get out on scenic or back roads and travel to places we don’t normally go- kind of like a mini vacation. The rides will leave J & L at 8am on the dates listed below, cover 300 to 400 miles a day and be back to Sioux Falls Sunday evening.

Pre-registration will be required but there is no registration fee for this event. The only expenses are your motel rooms and normal traveling costs. Depending on the Extended Ride you select, motel reservations will be handled either by your Road Captain or J & L. Registration will be handled on a first come, first served basis.

Individual Extended Rides may have to be cancelled if signups are below minimum requirements.

The Extended Rides we have planned for this year are:

• June 12th - 15th Ridin’ to the State HOG Rally in Pierre This year we’ll be traveling on some roads you wouldn’t normally think to take to Pierre. They are bad roads, just something that’s not a direct route. Maybe a little history involved with these roads, too. Because there will likely be several hundred people at this event, everyone attending is responsible for making their own hotel or motel reservations.

• July 24th - July 27th Ride to Northern Minnesota There is so much to do and see on this ride that we had to turn it into a four day event. We’ll take in some of the sights and history along the Duluth Waterfront, plus the spectacular view driving up Old Highway 61.

• September 12th - 14th Ride to Western Wisconsin This one is over towards La Crosse and Western Wisconsin. You’ll enjoy some of the most scenic riding Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota have to offer. Plus, if you like to shop and enjoy good food, you’ll find both on this ride.

Information packets with detailed routes, stops and accommodation information will be available prior to your particular Extended Ride.
