Meet the Team

At Glacial Lakes Harley-Davidson, you’ll find a knowledgeable, professional and friendly staff that have true passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles and the people who ride them.

"I just wanted to send you a note about the crew in Watertown. We had a need for parts and advice during the HOG rally. We just wanted to relay to you that your staff went out of their way to accommodate us. We were very pleased with the friendly and knowledgeable treatment we were given. To say the least, I was impressed!" Roger from Sioux Falls

Manager, Glacial Lakes Harley-Davidson

Justin grew up in western South Dakota, in Martin, and refers to his home area as “The Motherland”. (We’ve heard stories about out there.) He attended the University of South Dakota and loved it so much, he went with the 5 year plan for his degree in Business Management. (What that really means is that his volunteer time at the Beta Theta Pi fraternity extended his education by a year.)

His Business degree and Harley-Davidson training helps him feel comfortable managing Glacial Lakes and the great bunch of Harley roadies that he works with.

Justin admits that all customer interactions are important, but one of the most satisfying and memorable is when he sold his big brother his first bike.

Justin has been with the J&L and Glacial Lakes family since 2005 and admits he doesn’t have a lot of free time, but when he does, you can find Justin on his 2006 Sportster XL1200 Custom, tearing up the pavement with his buddies and spending time with family.

Justin’s preferred state of mind is that life is better in flip flops. (We’ll agree with that!)

Eric grew up on the other side of the tracks in Watertown, SD. He headed south to MMI in Phoenix where he graduated with and has completed all his HDU training and is an Expert Level Technician. He returned to South Dakota because the hunting and fishing in Arizona had nothing on his home state.

One of the cooler bike jobs he’s done was installing a chrome frame on a Heritage Softail and then having it win 1st place in a bike show. (Was there ever any doubt?)

Eric’s been riding for over 18 years and being comfortable in his manhood, Eric chooses to ride his wife’s bike, a 1992 FXR. A philanthropist of sorts, Eric once donated a foot of hair to Locks of Love. His current project? Knitting booties for the neighborhood dogs.

Motorcycle Sales Associate, Glacial Lakes Harley-Davidson

A self-professed graduate of the School of Hard Knocks, Jim was born in Cleveland and raised 40 miles away in Ravenna, Ohio. He has a broad background, having taken several military courses, being trained in broadcasting and leadership and completing all necessary education to be certified Master Level in Harley-Davidson Sales.

He believes that life is a good teacher and walks the walk of “We live to ride another day- we can’t change yesterday, but we can change tomorrow.” (Sounds liked pretty good advice to us.)

Even his favorite customer story is reflected in this outlook. A gentleman came in the store looking at bikes and shared that his wife would never have let him get a bike before, but she had just completed cancer treatment and told him to go get himself a bike because she wanted to really live. The best part? A year later, she has her own bike, too.

A fun fact about Jim: He used to participate in demolition derbies.

Jim has spent the majority of his life on a motorcycle, over 34 years, and currently enjoys hitting the road on his Heritage Softail Springer, taking long rides with his wife, going camping with friends and family, and spending time with his grandkid.

MotorClothes Sales Associate, Glacial Lakes Harley-Davidson

Jana grew up in Ranchester, WY right next to the Big Horn Mountains and moved to South Dakota for new scenery.

She appreciates working with people who have the same interests as her (such as stamp-collecting and correcting other people’s grammar) and really loves that she and her customers know each other and often are on a first name basis. (Norm!)

Jana’s background in retail sales help her connect and understand what her customers are wanting and needing. Jana knows that life is what happens while you’re making other plans, so enjoys her busy life as wife, mother to 4 kids, and volleyball coach. When she has a few moments to herself, Jana loves riding her 1200 Sportster and honing her parkour skills.

Service Technician, Glacial Lakes Harley-Davidson

Mitch grew up in frozen-tundra of Sioux Falls and hightailed it for Phoenix to attend MMI as soon as he could and graduated with certifications in Harley-Davidson, Honda, and BMW motorcycles.

A non-conformist of sorts, Mitch once took a muffler and said, “This looks like a great oil tank” and promptly finagled it into one. That makes us wonder what magic he could do with a tailgate, a HotWheel and an ice cube tray.

Anything outdoors is Mitch’s niche- hunting, fishing, sport shooting and riding his 1997 Dyna SuperGlide anywhere with a great view. (He loves to feel the wind in his beard.) But, he also loves spending time with friends and family, building model cars or playing video games.

His dream bike? A 1947 Knucklehead.

A George Carlin fan, Mitch’s favorite quote is “Some people see things that are and ask why. Some people dream of things that never were and ask why not. Some people have to go to work and don’t have time for all that.”
